Okay, so my top hand squeezes while my bottom hand turns the cane. Keep on squeez'n!

Once the cane gets small enough I roll it. I know, I know -- never roll a cane (I'm such a rebel!). The key to successfully rolling a cane is knowing where to apply pressure. What you want to do is apply pressure ONLY to the top of the cane as you roll it.

Don't PUSH the cane as you roll it (apply pressure to the side).

This is also a pushing motion but on the way back. I guess you could call it dragging... (pressure applied to the side). This is a guaranteed way to distort your cane. Yeah. Don't do it.

I'm about 30 minutes in and I've got all 8 flower petals built and ready to be shaped!
